4 Keys to Spot and Stalk Coues Deer and Mule Deer Hunting
August 1, 20185 Tips for Success on Your Next Elk Hunt
August 17, 2018Who else is excited about the hunting season? We are getting fired up. Arizona has so much hunting opportunity, but the secret is getting out. While the Grand Canyon state is famous for its trophy elk hunts and mule deer hunts in places like the Kaibab and Arizona Strip, it doesn’t take a ton of points or luck to have an incredible hunt. The over-the-counter, or OTC deer hunting opportunities here are totally unique.
In most western states, hunting deer during the rut is typically a hard tag to draw – if there are hunting opportunities at all. Here in Arizona, you can hunt deer during the rut every single year. The state offers OTC archery deer tags during the rut period for both mule deer and Coues deer.
What’s more, the deer rut down here in the desert takes place during December and January. It’s the perfect time for a snowbird trip down to Arizona, for some exciting spot-and-stalk archery hunting! If you’ve never experienced a Coues deer hunt, or a desert mule deer hunt, it’s an addicting experience! The weather is beautiful, and we know how to put hunters on deer!
Our guides know exactly where to be, to make sure you have great opportunities to put stalks on these deer. We spend a lot of time glassing for the right buck. With a trophy Coues or mule deer spotted, putting a stalk on these cagey animals is one of the most exciting experiences in hunting. We can operate guided hunts from town where you’ll stay in a local hotel. Or we also operate hunts from more remote base camps, depending on your preference.
